The international contest for the Krakow Film Award is the highlight of the Mastercard OFF CAMERA Festival. Filmmakers showing their first or second movie compete for the main award of $ 25,000. 

Every year the programmers bring the most touching independent movies from all over the world to Krakow. Some of them make you laugh to tears, some bring you to tears with their emotions and complicated stories of their characters. None of the movies in this section can be easily pigeonholed. The international jury chaired by Tomasz Wasilewski this year will certainly face a difficult choice. 

The winners of the Krakow Film Award in the previous years were, among others Mauro Delpero for her movie “Maternal,” Ulaa Salim for “Sons of Denmark and Jagoda Szelc for “Tower. A Bright Day”

“Ninjababy” directed by Yngvild Sve Fikke 

“Sweat” directed by Magnus von Horn 

“The Toll” directed by Ryan Andrew Hooper 

“La Troisieme Guerre” directed by Giovanni Aloi 

The competitions are part of the project "IMAGE OF THE WORLD / WORLD IN IMAGES", which was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport from the Culture Promotion Fund - a state purpose fund.
